Tools, apps etc
There are many different programs for screenwriting. Final Draft is the "gold standard", but I'm among those who use another program and am very happy with having it that way.
Here you will find a bit about what aids I use in my writing process, both writing programs and other aids that make the process of creating the best possible story a little easier.
1
Causality Story Sequencer from Hollywood Camera Work is a writing program for Mac and Windows. It is far from the most famous program but is designed for both film, TV, graphic novels, regular books, etc. I use it for all my writing and what I like about it is that it is extremely visual and you can "whiteboard " the story continuously and jump back and forth between text and outline. In addition, it is not the most expensive program.
2
Most people know about Google Docs. I use it for notes, character biographies, research, etc. The Duffer Brothers (the creators of Stranger Things) seems to outline their stories in Google Docs, with sharing mode, so that both can write in the same document at the same time.
3
Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is a well-known website that serves as an encyclopedia for "all the world's movies and TV series". I use this as an app on my phone to be able to quickly look up information about things I'm watching, such as reviews, box office earnings, and cast & crew. IMDb Pro costs a few dollars but provides even more information, such as contact information on people and information on upcoming projects.

Tools for video conferencing
When doing research, it can be very useful to be able to have video meetings with people around the world. Both Zoom, Teams, and other solutions work, but it might be good to be able to share the screen, and preferably also to be able to record the conversation so that you can take notes afterward. I use Google Meet for this purpose.

Google Maps with Street View
Google Maps with Street View is a brilliant tool when doing research on places and environments. I use it to check that what I write is as realistic as possible and it allows me to travel around the world and see how things look at street level in seconds.
